I pulled my card from my deer mineral trail camera last week and got some great pictures of the next generation. As usual, a loner bear walked through, as well as a nice gobbler. My excitement came though when my "deer" old friend returned for his 4th or 5th year. He's a buck that has been strictly nocturnal, shows up for the summer, then disappears for the season until he re-emerges in January. I've never laid my eyes on him in real life, never found his sheds, and nobody seems to be able to harvest him. I'm not hopeful that I'll bag this ghost buck, but we'll see how the season plays out this year if he makes a mistake during the rut!
